THE WAITING FOR THE WAITING

THE WAITING FOR THE WAITING God, you chose to make us wait for youfor a whole  advent time.I don’t like waitingin the long queues I don’t like waiting my turn.I don’t like waiting for the train.I don’t like waiting to judge.I don’t like waiting for the moment.I don’t like waiting for another day. I don’t like waitingbecause I haven’t the timeand I only live in the present moment.  I don’t need to wait for the news:it  goes before me.But you, o God,you chose to make us wait for youfor a whole advent time. Because you made waitinginto a conversion-space,the face-to-face with what is hidden, the wearing that never wears. The waiting, only the waiting, the waiting for the waiting, the intimacy of the expectation in usbecause only expectation can awaken our attentionand only attention is capable of loving. Everything is already given in the waitingand for you, God,waiting and prayer combine. Jean Debruyne
